Typography is an ever-present element in design, and mastering it is crucial for every designer. A deep understanding of a letter's structure and intention, along with considerations of size, weight, style, space, color, texture, and rhythm, is essential to infuse life and brilliance into a design. This project encourages the creation of original work in the classroom studio, allowing ample time to develop solutions and explore different options.
By arranging basic shapes like dots, triangles, and squares, we can represent a calendar month. The compositions that blend calendar structures with text will form posters that visually capture the excitement of Lollapalooza while highlighting the main artists.
